Northwest Aviation Aviation Center will be happy to assist you in that new aircraft
acquisition. From finding the plane of your dreams, to the
pre-purchase examination, to the purchase transaction to the
ferry flight we are there to assist you.
Here
is what we look for:
The purpose of this examination is for you to report issues with
the
aircraft or its records which, in your opinion, constitute
"Major Concerns."
For the purposes of this examination, a Major Concern is an
issue which you
believe indicates:
a) An overall history of poor maintenance of the aircraft;
b) The suspicion of previous damage to the aircraft;
c) A lack of compliance with FAA Airworthiness Directives
or mandatory
Manufacturers' Service Bulletins;
d) A likely current or soon-upcoming maintenance expense
which might be costly, or
e) An unsafe flight condition which, if this were an annual
inspection,
would require repair in order for the aircraft to be deemed
airworthy"

100 Hour Inspection.
If you are a Flight Instructor providing an airplane for
instruction, a flight school, or a FAR Part 135 operator, you
will need 100 hour inspections on your planes used for that
purpose. We will use the manufacture's and the FAA's
checklist to perform this inspection. And we flat-rate all
of our inspections as follows:
Piper,
12 hours for simple single engine airplanes = $1,020.00
16 hours for complex single engine airplanes = $1,360.00
24 hours for small twin engine airplanes = $2,040.00
Cessna,
20 hours for simple single engine airplanes =
$1,700.00
24 hours for complex single engine airplanes = $2,040.00
32 hours for small twin engine airplanes = $2,720.00.
Other
Makes and Models priced according to time spent on the
inspection.
Shop
labor rate is $85.00 per hour.
If
you are bringing your plane to us for the first time, there may
be an extra charge for the Airworthiness Directive Search and
Compliance. This sometimes gets very involved and takes
many hours.
Annual Inspection
Believe it or not, the Annual Inspection is
exactly the same as the 100 hour Inspection - at least in our
shop. The difference in the eyes of the FAA is that on the
annual the Inspector will check all applicable Airworthiness
Directives (ADs.) At Northwest Aviation Center, we'll
check compliance with ADs on every
inspection from the pre-buy through the annual.

Hard Landing
Sometimes it just happens. For some reason, you flair at
20 feet instead of 2 feet. Maybe you forgot you were in
the Seneca, not the DC-4 that you usually fly, and drop it in.
Please put aside your pride and give us a call. We'll not
kid you (too much) but look over your plane to ensure it has no
damage. Some planes are more susceptible to hard landing
damage than others, so swallow that pride and give us a call.

The fabric punch test.
Every fabric
covered airplane requires periodic testing of the covering.
We have the tools and expertise to perform this test, and if
needed do any repairs or recovering to your beautiful bird.

Component Overhaul
We will soon be in the business of overhauling your electrical
components. Alternators, Starters, Generators, Magnetos,
so when it is time to overhaul your Lycoming or Continental
Engine, we can do the whole package.
